OUR ALUMNI

I am Zakaria Osman Nur, a graduate student at Harun Hashim Law Centre under IIUM Academy from International Islamic University Malaysia. I work with the largest and leading telecom company in Somalia which is Hormuud Telecom under the Risk Management Unit as a legal officer. It was my dream to become a business lawyer. So, I researched law schools or in Malaysia. I had visited the website of this university many times and also heard many positive reviews about the university.

The right kind of education may enhance a person’s ability to consistently bring efficiency, creativity, and value to not only the commercial or academic worlds but to the entire world. I want to progress consistently in life, which is only possible if I have the appropriate education and self-assurance. So, I chose IIUM because this is the place where I can build a bright future. I feel proud of my decision.

I joined the LLM in International Program in IIUM with a skeptical mind but graduated with contentment and gratitude towards all my Professors. The Professors have not only been helpful but went an extra mile for the students to be able to grasp the whole idea and vibe of International Law. During the Covid-19 pandemic, our Professors strived to deliver the lectures online so that the valuable time in a student’s life was not missed.

The library at IIUM has excellent teaching and learning resources with access to an extensive online database containing all biblical books and  journals of International Law that assisted us substantially with our learning experience.

I have also received incredible support from Harun M. Hashim Law Centre which not only included various administrative and student support but also well-being and accommodation that helped me make most of my time worthy at IIUM.
